Is Veridest a software or a consultancy?
Veridest is a cloud platform. You and your team work in your browser: the register, report checks, alerts and inspection files are all in the platform. Nothing to install.
Who performs the audit?
An independent third party with qualifications in audits and waste treatment, authorised or accredited by a national official body. Certification to ISO 19011:2018 or ISO/IEC 17020:2012 can demonstrate this. Veridest does not perform audits. Art. 46(3) · Annex X, Part A
The facility already has an audit. Why must I check the report?
When you rely on a report commissioned by the facility or by another exporter, you must first verify that the audit was carried out correctly and demonstrated compliance with Annex X. The responsibility stays with you, the exporter. Art. 46(5)
Doesn't the Commission's public register prove compliance?
No. The register lists notified audits to help exporters prepare shipments, but it is not meant to demonstrate compliance and does not release exporters from their responsibility. Art. 46(8)
Does the audit require a site visit?
Yes. The audit must include physical as well as documentary checks. Art. 46(4)
Does this apply to OECD countries such as Türkiye?
Yes. The audit duty covers facilities in all third countries, including OECD members, unless an international agreement between the EU and that country recognises its facilities as environmentally sound. Art. 46(11)
What if a facility has an incident after its audit?
If reliable information suggests a facility no longer meets the criteria, the exporter must request an ad hoc audit without delay, and stop exporting if the audit confirms non-compliance. Veridest alerts you when that happens. Art. 46(5)
What does it cost?
Exporters: Essential at €149 a month (up to 5 destination facilities), Professional at €390 a month (up to 30), Enterprise from €890 a month. Facilities: Passport at €390 a month, Passport Plus at €690 a month. Annual billing gives you two months free. Prices exclude VAT.
